Radiowave Surgery
A safe alternative to traditional surgery.
Colleyville Animal Clinic utilizes radio wave technology for most surgeries, as it offers shorter anesthesia times, less post-operative swelling, and quicker healing and recovery times. It is also safer than laser surgery as there is no burning of the tissue.
Radio wave surgery works by utilizing a small microfiber tip energized by ultra-high frequency radio waves. It results in a focused and accurate cutting technique which decreases the amount of tissue destruction. Some of the surgical procedures where we use this radio wave technology include:
- Spay/Neuter
- Tumor removal
- Biopsies
When available, radiowave surgery is often preferable to traditional surgery for these reasons:
- Less pain and bleeding
- Decreased swelling
- Reduced risk of infection
- Increased precision
- Increased speed of procedure/decreased anesthesia time
